Time slips by

It just seems so fast you barely notice time slipping away like a slimy eel in your hand. The days race through leaving scant traces of what transpired or you experience a kind of Groundhog phenomenon. Everything seemed to repeat itself with miniscule changes to faintly mask the sameness. Dreams roll on in 3d without having to wear specs devoid of apparent meaning or relevance. I sit motionless and feeling empty giving me a feeling of something terribly amiss or wanting. Sleep now beckons like a Siren singing her song and casting me in a whirlpool trance. There will be more Groundhog moments knocking on the doors of repeating experience.

Free Dictionaries on my Samsung Tablet

I have recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and have been setting it up with the apps that I need for my humble purposes. Pretty much at the same time, I also upgraded my phone from an antiquated HTC ChaCha to an LG Optimus L7 Dual because of recurring problems with the ChaCha's battery.

With the LG Optimus came a free app call Quick Translator with which you can scan written signs or materials of another language and obtain a translation. Within this app you get to choose a source language. I chose Spanish because of a current interest in this language. In the setup then of Quick Translator a dictionary is also installed. This is called DioDict. A Collins Spanish-English Dictionary is installed. I believe more languages can be selected and installed. At the moment only have Spanish on my LG.

Out of curiosity, with my Samsung Note 10.1, I did a PlayStore seach on DioDict and voila I discovered that Samsung devices can get free dictionaries. Start with downloading DioDict Quick Download. Once installed you can start installing different dictionaries available. I have installed Spanish (as in my LG) and German and Collins Cobuild Advanced English dictionary.

Note: make sure your security is relaxed to install the dictionaries. Otherwise you get an error. Go to Settings - Security - Device Administration and tick where it says "Allow installation of apps from sources other than Play Store". You can untick this later on after you have loaded all your desired dictionaries.

The bilingual dictionaries (source language to English, which can be swapped around) are the following languages:
Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian, Ukranian, Greek, Polish, Irish, Danish, Dutch, Malay, Indonesian, Hindi, Turkish, Arabic, Urdu, Farsi, etc.
